About Our Camp

MSK Atheltics, Adventure & Discovery

The camp will run for a total of 8 weeks: the first three weeks of July as well as the first three weeks of August.  The camp curriculum is designed by dedicated and experienced educators to help children get the most out of the summer months. Central to the camp’s program, is the Montessori learning method: taking the notion of experience as a fundamental approach to education and applying it to one-of-a-kind approaches in the areas of ecology, science, physical education, and the arts.  The children will not only be engaged by co-operative group games and a variety of sports, but will also be afforded the opportunity to explore the picturesque natural landscape which is the backdrop of MSK.  This exploration includes daily hikes, forest games and orienteering.  We will also use the new neighbouring forest for the purpose of exposing the children to scientific examination, in which they will collect and analyze local specimens of flora and fauna under microscopes.

Our intention is to create an educational atmosphere that is both alluring and compelling, yet refined in its structure.  Our teacher to student ratio is 1:10 for children under the age of 6 and 1-15 for children over 6.  Included in the costs is a weekly trip that relates to the educational components of the program (ie Kortright Centre, ROM, Zoo, Boyd Park, Swimming etc).  Children under the age of 6 will remain on school grounds and have fun and educational weekly visits from Reptilia and Planet Aquarium.
